Kenji Shiratori, a lawyer at a law office, has lived with synesthesia since childhood, perceiving colors and textures in unique ways. Misunderstood by those around him, he grew up feeling isolated, and school became a place devoid of color—a dark and murky world.
Now, Kenji is appointed as the school lawyer at the newly merged Hama Solaris Academy High School, where frequent conflicts over school rules are erupting. The most heated issue involves the introduction of genderless uniforms, sparking intense debate among students. When both the student council president and vice president stop attending school, Kenji is asked to investigate the cause.
Uncomfortable in school settings, Kenji offers legal advice but struggles to grasp the full picture, leading to missteps. Rumors spread that changes in school rules due to the merger may be behind the truancy, and uniform backlash is intensifying. Listening to the students, Kenji proposes a mock trial—the “Uniform Trial”—to uncover the various perspectives and emotions of both students and school staff. Through the trial, he confronts the complex realities that laws and rules alone cannot resolve.
Faced with ambiguous, gray-area issues, Kenji fights not just with legal tools but with a commitment to serve the “best interests of the students.”
