Hiyama Eisuke is a stage actor who can't sell his work. He has the unfortunate ability to hear the voices of ghosts. Because of this special ability, he frequently moves house, always looking for cheap accommodation that is free of ghosts. One day, Hiyama seeks help from Amami Real Estate, a company known for providing housing for people on low incomes and those with difficult backgrounds.
The company's president, Goro Amami, proposes a luxury apartment in Roppongi with suspiciously good conditions to Hiyama. Hiyama, who is in dire straits, accepts the offer, but then finds out that the apartment is a haunted property where a suicide has occurred in the past. However, when Hiyama moves into the apartment, he hears a woman's voice saying, “I was killed.” Using his special ability, Hiyama uncovers the truth about the woman's death and helps to catch the culprit.
Amami is impressed by Hiyama's unique ability and proposes that he continue his work “purifying” haunted houses. Hiyama reluctantly accepts the proposal and takes up a new assignment in Osaka, but there he hears the voice of a ghost with a mysterious past...
